Emergent Solutioning™ R.I.S.E. Framework

Emergent Solutioning™ was developed, tested and proven, based on more than 1,600 coaching sessions with individuals, leaders and entrepreneurs from the public, private, and non-profit sectors all over the world.

It is based on both complexity management and solution-focused coaching techniques. The solution-focused approach is an evidence-backed, goal-directed and strength-based approach widely used for more than 40 years in counselling, coaching and organisational development. It has proven effective in helping people reach their goals, alleviate their concerns, , raise self-esteem, , and improve their performance.

With Emergent Solutioning™ we combine complexity management principles with performance coaching techniques to create a unique approach that is immensely practical and effective in creating impact where it matters most – producing results at work and in your life.

WHAT IS different about EMERGENT SOLUTIONING™?

Emergent Solutioning™ is unique in a few key areas:

  • Emergent Solutioning™ is an adaptive sensemaking approach that helps us to manage complexity and challenges. Its fluid and non-prescriptive approach allows for a variety of bespoke strategies and action steps to be developed in a non-normative manner to meet diverse challenges. This is in recognition that we are faced with complex challenges in our daily lives, and it is unlikely to be any prescribed process or interventions that can be consistently repeated successfully. Many other approaches are linear and prescriptive, overly simplistic, and have limited usefulness when applied in the real complex world.
  • Emergent Solutioning™ helps you become more adaptable, more motivated to thrive and perform. This is in recognition that we need to both manage stress and adversity well and yet find ways to also function well and thrive in our various roles at work. Emergent Solutioning™ enables us to discover strengths and resources to goals to create concrete and sustainable solutions and action. Other approaches are predominantly problem-centred and aim to mitigate and alleviate the negative impact of problems troubling the person which might be useful in helping the person feel better but might not necessarily lead to achieving desired performance outcomes.
  • Emergent Solutioning™ is strength-based and rooted in the belief that everyone has resources available from which solutions can emerge. This develops resilience, independence, and resourcefulness. Some other approaches adopt the reductionist approach and assume the problem lies with the person and his/her way of thinking and there is a need to “fix” the person who is broken or defective in some way and this is not conducive in growing resilience and self-belief.
  • Emergent Solutioning™ is highly versatile and can be used both by individuals, in a team or organisational setting leading to a higher performing, agile and thriving community in your organisation.
